Kent State Hackathon
Hackathon Project
Spring 2020
Two Days

Design Brief

A group project with four other individuals from CCAD, Kent State, and Georgia Southern University and different degrees in Industrial Design, Fashion Design, and Electrical Engineering.

We made a device for the purpose of reducing the time for physical trainers to do diagnostics on a recovering ACL injury.

The problem that we tried to solve is how could the trainer more efficiently measure the range of motion of the knee.

We developed a leg brace, that a physical trainer or patient would put on and it would send the trainer the range of motion the patient has in both flexion and hyperextension of their knee.  The physical trainer and patient could see the range of motion data on our app and website we made and keep track of their progress throughout the recovery.
